Release date of Vivo X80 series set for India on May 18: Expected price, specifications

The Chinese company confirmed the Vivo X80 series India launch date on Tuesday. Last month, the series that includes Vivo X80 Pro and Vivo X80 Pro were launched in China for the first time. The Vivo X80 Pro was available in two variants: one with a MediaTek Dizensity 9000 SoC and one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon8 Gen 1 SoC. India has been confirmed to receive the second variant. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC was used to launch the Vivo X80.

ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, the Vivo X80 series India launches will be at 12 noon (noon) on May 18. Flipkart also has a dedicated webpage on their site that teases the launch. Up until now, the May 18 launch date has been a part of the rumours.

Vivo X80, Vivo X80 Pro price in India (expected)

The Vivo X80 Pro and Vivo X80 Pro prices in India are still to be announced. However, both phones will likely be available in the premium segment. The Vivo X80 was first launched in China for CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs. 42,600 for the base 8GB RAM +128GB storage variant. The Vivo X80 Pro was launched at a starting cost of CNY 5,499 (roughly R. 63,300 for the 8GB +256GB configuration.

On Sunday, the Vivo X80 series was launched in Malaysia. Malaysian customers received the Vivo X80 for MYR 34999 (roughly Rs. 61,800 and the Vivo X80 Pro MYR 4,999 (roughly R. 88,300). The phones were available in a single configuration (12GB + 256GB). The Malaysian Vivo X80 Pro came with the Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 SoC as the only option.

Vivo X80 specifications

The Vivo X80 runs Android 12 with a 6.78-inch full-HD+ (1.080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED display. It has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC powers the phone and has up to 12GB of RAM. It has a triple rear camera setup. The primary Sony IMX866 RGBW sensor is 50 megapixels. There’s also a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter and a 12-megapixel portrait sensor. The front also features a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor.

Vivo X80 has up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. You have connectivity options like 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Infrared blaster (IR), and a USB Type C port. It also features an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,500mAh battery and supports fast charging with 80W Flash Charge.

Vivo X80 Pro specifications

Vivo X80 Pro runs Android 12 and has a 6.78 inch 2K (1.440×3,200 pixels) AMOLED display that can be resented at 120Hz. The company confirmed that it has the Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 and Dimensity9000 options in China. However, India will receive the former SoC. The Snapdragon model comes with 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5 RAM options, and the Dimensity option comes with 12GB LPDDR5 Ram as standard.

The quad rear camera system includes:

  • A 50-megapixel primary Samsung ISOCELL GV sensor.
  • A 48-megapixel ultrawide Sony IMX598 sensor.
  • A 12GB Sony IMX663 sensor, equipped with a portrait lens and an
  • An 8-megapixel sensor fitted with a periscope-shaped ultra-telephoto f/3.4 lens.

The front of the Vivo X80 Pro has a 32-megapixel camera sensor for selfies and video chats.

The Vivo X80 Pro can store up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Vivo X80 Pro has nearly the same number of connectivity options. It also features an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,700mAh battery and supports both 80W Flash Charge fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
